This decaf displays so much origin and process cup characteristics that it's easy to pinpoint as being from Ethiopia! That's the beauty of using a gentle decaffeination process like the Swiss Water method, where much of the volatile compounds that affect flavor and aroma are preserved post-decaf. This coffee was 100% dry process (pre-decaf), and we're happy to report the overt fruit and aromatic cup come through in this decaffeinated example. The Benti Nenka processing site is located in a village ("Kebele") of the same name within the Hambela Wamena region, Ethiopia's Guji Zone. The station owner, Kedir Hassan, is a proficient and capable engineer as well as coffee farmer. He's erected a few stations in Hambela Wamena region, some producing both washed and dry process ("naturals") coffees. This lot is only comprised of coffee from the small holders in the Benti Nenka area, whose farms span an altitude range of roughly 1900 to 2100 meters above sea level.
